French Toast

The culinary masterpiece that is French Toast is one of my favourite topics for discussion. You see, I have a firm belief that French Toast is best made in a particular way, which seems to fly in the face of lesser-qualified critics.

I’ve been looking for a way to gain a significant upper-hand in these discussions (read: arguments) regarding French Toast, and have decided that by publishing the recipe on this little blog, that makes me a published chef. And a published chef always trumps a kitchen hack.

So here’s my French Toast recipe:

Whisk together eggs & a splash of milk. Dip bread in egg mixture. Fry bread on both sides till golden. Cover with BBQ sauce. Enjoy.

Simple, elegant, delicious.

BBQ sauce fails the elegance test….

Whisk together eggs & a splash of milk and a teaspoon of sugar. Soak bread in egg mixture . Fry bread on both sides till golden. Warm 1/2 punnet strawberries until the juices just start to run. Serve toast with topped with warm strawberries and a dollop of natural yoghurt.

Not so simple, but elegant, sophisticated and delicious. ;)
